Hand Rubbed?

!!WARNING!!... This post may not be suitable for children!

I was sent this ad in my email today and I thought you might enjoy it. these photos were sent as one image but whom ever sent the ad sent it as separate files. The computer that I am using at work here does not have a photo editor (retarded) so I was unable to put it back together and that is how you see it before you. Sorry.

Do you see something rather comical about one of these photos?

Hand Rubbed?

Is that the best adjective they could use for a piece of meat that they are trying to sell you? Do I need to explain why this ad could tend to deture some people? No? Good! Actually when I think about it some more, it might also attract some people in the same sense.

I also wonder if the person designing the ad meant to do this for a laugh or two. "Hand Rubbed", "slow", "prime", "enjoy"! I may have actually used these words in a sentence myself before for a totally separate context. (I never said this blog was a family friendly operation)!

The George Orwell 1984 Game.

-Disclaimer- This is not a book review.

Instead, At the risk of confessing my lack of literary experience, I want to start by saying that I have never read the book, 1984, by George Orwell. I promise however that is in my agenda before I get to old to venture onto these pages.

I have always been fascinated by the amount of book cover designs that have been into circulation since the novels birth in 1949. Orwell, primarily known for two books, Animal farm (1945) and Nineteen Eighty four (1949) has become one of the most prolific authors of the twentieth century.

But now back to the book designs. I remember sorting through my fiance's book collection to find a version of said book with a different cover than the one my father owned which I remember him reading while growing up. so I did a search. O.k. so it was not that extensive of a search but, I did Google quite a few key words and never came up with an exact amount of cover designs for the book. Nevertheless, I must know exactly how many have been in print.

I would like to do something different on this blog for today and play a little game with you. I ask the question; Can you tell me the exact number of book designs have been printed for George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty Four? If you know the answer, please comment back to this post. Also, please copy and paste the URL of the website where you found the answer. The winner will receive uh... hmm! Bragging rites? (Sorry Im a broke ho). Maybe I'll blog about you. Bonus points will be added if you can tell me the release date for each of the design prints.

Happy Hunting!

I had to talk about this wall paper. this is not a computer desktop wall paper but a wall paper for rooms in houses. I can't really fathom this style by Tom Hanke seems like you would have to put the wall paper up around the paintings and outlets. So was that picture up before he put the wall paper up or did it magically form around the picture when he hung it. Ok I know the answer to that.

actually I found out that this design is meant to be customized by the room that it is going in. By calculating all the dimensions and doorways, outlets, picture, etc., in a computer program, it is then ready to set.

This guy Tom Hanke has a few designs that follow the same instructions.
